Author Visits

Book your author visit now!

Ideal for primary pupils, Roar on the Moor & Sky Dancer author visits are both fun and informative - bringing nature to life in your classroom!

What an author visit usually includes:

After a roaringly fun assembly reading Roar on the Moor or Sky Dancers, we will return to the classroom and pupils will create their own decorated Red Deer antlers or Sky Dancing dragonflies to get them in the mood. Children will then use colouring and writing sheets and story prompts to help their creative juices to flow.

After crafting poems, stories or fact files, pupils will take to the stage to present their creations to the rest of the class and vote for which should win a place on the Wildwell Hollow Wall of Fame. (See link below.)

There are two ways of paying for an author visit, one of which is free! I will ask you to send out an Adventures of Wildwell Hollow Pre-order Form to parents, inviting them to buy the books for a reduced price of £6. If you are able to secure a minimum of 30 pre-paid book sales I will run the session for free!*

20+ book sales - FREE visit*

Under 20 book sales - £75*

(For a half day visit.)

Sending out texts and letters to encourage parents to buy the book really helps!

I will work with you to make sure the times and length of the session fits your school timetable.

You will need to supply:

Projector and screen.

Printed worksheets (which I will send to you prior to the visit).

Writing and colouring pens and pencils, paper and card, glue, sticky tape, stapler.

*If your school is outside of, or far from the Peak District, I may need to charge travel to cover my costs.
