About the Event

By adopting a holistic social-ecological approach to nature conservation, which considers people to be an inevitable part of the landscape, conservationists are able to have realistic conservation goals and to create opportunities for people to be part of nature conservation’s solution, rather than being deemed the problem.

1. An introduction to a social-ecological approach for nature conservation

2. Defining your system boundary

3. Identifying all elements of your system

4. Understanding the connections and influences between those elements

Part Two will run from 10:30am - 12:30pm on May 20th 2021 and will cover:

1. Quick revision of part one and oppportunity for discussions and questions

2. Creating rich pictures and systems maps for your system

3. Creating a systems team

4. Action points for you to take away and implement a social-ecological systems approach

The sessions will include a presentation, discussions, break out rooms to work up scenarios for your site and opportuities for questions.
