About the event
During this full day workshop, delivered in the wonderful Moorland Discovery Centre in the National Trust's Longshaw Estate in the Peak District, we will look at how to provide the opportunity, confidence and support to young people to enable them to design, steer and deliver their environmental youth group sessions, whilst you take on the role of a supportive facilitator.
We will cover:
- The benefits of becoming a facilitator
- Stepping back confidently
- Helping young people to climb the ladder of participation
- Supporting young people to design and deliver an environmental project of their choice.
This is an interactive session where you will work with other participants to share ideas and experiences. It is suitable for people working with young people in the environmental conservation sector. The perfect combination is for the adult group leader and a young group member to attend the session together so that they can both develop their new skills together! If you wish to book for a youth member too, please contact me to discuss.
We will be providing refreshments, but please bring a packed lunch.
In the event of COVID-19 restrictions impacting this event, we will either reschedule, or move on-line to Zoom!
See our events programme for more details or email us to show your interest in future opportunities.
