About the event
Delivered in the wonderful Moorland Discovery Centre in the National Trust's Longshaw Estate in the Peak District, this full day workshop provides participants with an introduction to Behaviour Change: environment & conservation.
The course covers:
1. Basic psychology behind visitor behaviour: values, beliefs & knowledge
2. Useful theories and models of behaviour change
3. Intention-behaviour gap
4. Exploring undesirable behaviours on your site
5. Identifying potential facilitators to positive behaviour & barriers to negative behaviour
This interactive session will include a presentation, discussions and break out activities to work up scenarios for your site.
We will be providing refreshments, but please bring a packed lunch.
In the event of COVID-19 restrictions impacting this event, we will either reschedule, or move on-line to Zoom!
This workshop is a stand-alone event suitable for anyone working within outdoor spaces managed for nature conservation that have public access. It will provide a basic understanding of what drives visitor behaviour and how to identify opportunities for behaviour change interventions.
